website under construction

The site will separate itself from the park through a reliance on hard landscaping, contrasting the soft environment of the existing masterplan. The two styles will be blended through the use of patchwork landscaping, conforming the free-form park to rigid borders where the two sites meet and overlap.
The proposal aims to complete the South corner of the Firs triangle masterplan with the inclusion of a community hall, cafe and gallery space. The plan will be defined by separating the functions into two separate buildings - the hall and gallery space will be contained within a two storey glazed building situated close to the corner, informed by existing site lines and the terraced context. The cafe and communal use space extend further along the edge of the site, presenting themselves towards the park and encouraging more public interaction.
